Red Raider Orientation is the time of the year at Texas Tech when all new students are welcomed to the Lubbock campus. My role for Red Raider Orientation in 2021 was creating designed materials to promote the RISE office and inform students of our services.
One major way that we welcomed students back to campus was through a large-scale photo backdrop. This acted as an anchor for RISE’s welcome events and was a fun element for students and families alike to partake in. Focusing on West Texas’ cacti and sunsets was a way to tie the vibe of Lubbock into the design.

Giveaways were also a prominent part of Red Raider Orientation. The below shirt designs played on the same typographic theme found in the backdrop in a simplified way.

The RISE Up Health Hub was also introduced during Red Raider Orientation in 2021. Design for the Hub was by me and was inspired by geometric shapes to complement and contrast the more detailed and intricate tablecloths that already existed. This structure acted as shade for RISE’s outdoor events, allowed up to 4 people to work inside at once comfortably, and became a staple on Texas Tech’s campus to signal when RISE was doing outreach.

Mural pics were incredibly popular over the duration of Red Raider Orientation. Here are just a few of the photos shared over the summer of students, families, and staff celebrating their Red Raider pride.
